Travel Companion

What is a Travel Companion? In essence, a travel companion is an individual that accompanies someone on their trip. They don’t need special qualifications, and could even be a loved one. A companion could be used for several reasons such as, moral support, navigating airport terminals and flights, helping a single-parent care for multiple children or disabled child or, simply to assist you during travel.

Personal Care

Roughly 9 in 10 seniors want to stay home for as long as they possibly can. Unfortunately, physical restrictions and disabilities make this difficult for many elderly adults. But with personal care services from Graceful In Home Healthcare, seniors can enjoy the comfort, familiarity, and independence of home for years to come.

To ensure your loved one receives the private care services he or she needs, we offer a variety of support programs. This allows us to tailor our services to each person’s unique needs.

Our personal care services are ideal for those who require assistance with activities of daily living. In addition to caring for elderly adults, our homecare specialists also work with disabled individuals and those recovering from illness, injury, or transitioning home from a hospital stay. Through personal care, day-to-day life can be made safer, comfortable, and more enjoyable for these individuals.

Alzheimer & Dementia

In an article published in Forbes, author, Marijke Vroomen, interviewed Leslie Koc whose husband had Alzheimer’s. He didn’t require hands-on physical care yet, however, he had reached a point where he couldn’t be left alone. Leslie shared,“Tom needs a companion, someone to brighten his day, to do things he would enjoy — things that he enjoys that I don’t.” “His companion comes just three times a week for an hour,” she says, explaining that other caregivers advised her to start the process slowly.

Tom’s companion keeps him busy. They go for walks and play games. “I made it very specific, the activities that Tom enjoys doing. I didn’t want to hire someone to just sit and watch television with him,” Koc says. “… This has been great for him. I feel as though I’m providing enriching time for Tom, not a babysitter.” The article also goes on to explain that this gives Leslie extra time to run errands or shopping without having to worry about Tom.
